At Kingsworth International School, we care about the full impact of educating the child within and without what we can call the academic sphere. Holistic education is about the whole child not just the student in their history or physics class. Which is why we have a policy of asking our students to commit to attending and participating in at least one extra-curricular activity every week.
At the beginning of the school year, students are encouraged to select from the list below, and although the activities we offer change from year to year to try and accommodate what our students want. These activities offer thinking outside the box. So when a student takes up MUN s/he is looking at skills including research techniques, writing, public speaking, problem-solving, conflict resolution, compromise, and cooperation. Or the student takes up, say, basketball they are learning not just the skill set needed to play the game but the ethos needed to be part of a team, to organise matches, to encourage others, and so on. Other activities reflect the same ethos.
