What is a trial day?

October 10, 2023

A trial day is an opportunity to attend our school for one day. Let's set the scene.

You and your child arrive early in the morning, 8:30 am. The air is a bit crisp, but you are welcomed at the door by warm smiling faces. Your child is ushered inside, and they quickly meet their teacher and the other students before they get settled in their classroom.

There is no formal test, there is no interview. The morning is a bit of a transition as they learn all of their teacher's names and the organisation of the school, but by noon, they are pleased to have a moment to discuss with the other pupils over lunch in the courtyard. They take a moment to admire the architecture while discussing the lessons with another student. The afternoon passes quickly with art and music classes, and before they know it, it is time to leave to go home. Suddenly, they feel a tug. This little pull that tells them that they are not ready to leave this inviting place. They greet you at the door, and they tell you all about the day that they had.

When your child spends a day with us, we are confident they will fall in love with our school. Largely attributed to our small size, hospitable culture, and cosy architectural buildings in the heart of Paris, we have a unique atmosphere that is felt right away. Every day we feel grateful and humble to be surrounded by such a positive energy.

Therefore, we encourage a trial day as a positive experience for your student, but also as an important tool to ease the transition to a new school. We find that students who have had a trial day with us are more likely to look forward to their first day of school than if they had only visited the school. They are able to recall what a full day at school was like, how it felt, and how much they wanted to stay at the end of the day.

See our reservations page to reserve a day for your child. We look forward to meeting you.
