Spring Term 2026

Dear Kingsworth Community,

Welcome to Spring Term! You may not see it yet, but we are only days away from a burst of color and wonder in our beautiful city, when the trees will bloom and the days will again fill with sunshine.

As we continue our journey through the Kingsworth Values, I find myself wondering how to best approach the value for this term – Integrity. Integrity is about being honest, having strong moral principles, and incorporating these into your daily life and practices. It is therefore curious that my first instinct to find inspiration for writing this blog was to go to AI and ask for ideas. I stopped myself and reflected on this, realizing immediately that there has never been a better time to promote integrity than today, when it is so easy to ask an algorithm to do our thinking for us. Sometimes it feels like our world has been caught in a tornado – everything is changing at a pace that few imagined to be possible. Our children are learning skills and gaining knowledge in school that may be obsolete before they even graduate. How can we address this new reality, and prepare ourselves, and perhaps more importantly, our children, for the world of the future? How can we ensure that they will be ready to take on whatever challenges they may face in school, in their careers, and in life? 

The answer to these questions, for me, grows from the value of integrity. It starts with being honest and having strong moral principles. These principles encourage us to do our own work, to cultivate our knowledge and our thoughts, and to find solutions to the problems we face, without relying on somebody – or something – else to do the thinking and the work for us. At Kingsworth, students have access to technology and the ever-changing world, however, they are encouraged to look into themselves and to find ways to approach and resolve complex problems without relying on artificial aids.  The gratification we get from “figuring it out”, from adapting to new circumstances, and from achieving our goals on our own terms brings feelings of satisfaction and happiness. This is how we thrive, and this is Kingsworth’s ultimate goal for our whole community.
