Kingsworth International School
Admissions Policy
1. Overview
Kingsworth International School is dedicated to providing a diverse, inclusive, and high-quality educational environment for students from all around the world. Our non-selective admissions policy ensures that we welcome students regardless of their academic background, nationality, or prior educational experience, while maintaining high academic standards and fostering an inclusive community. Our admissions process is designed to be inclusive, transparent, and fair, ensuring that every student who meets our basic requirements can be considered for admission.
2. Purpose
This admissions policy outlines the criteria and process by which students are admitted to Kingsworth International School. Our goal is to create a diverse learning environment where all students can grow academically, socially, and personally, preparing them for success in an interconnected world.
3. Admissions criteria
We welcome applications from students who meet the following general criteria:
- Age: Students must fall within the appropriate age range for their grade level.
- Language Proficiency: Since the language of instruction is primarily English, students must have a basic proficiency in English. However, we accept students with varying levels of English, and support is available through English as an Additional Language lessons.
- Academic Background: Applicants must have completed the equivalent of the preceding year of schooling in their home country or at another school. No specific academic performance is required, as we are a non-selective institution. (However, there are some prerequisites for entry into certain IAL subjects in Year 12 and Year 13.)
4. Pre-application process
We aim to provide every family with a comprehensive introduction to our curriculum and IGCSE and IAL programmes and address any specific questions for further details.
School campus tours are available by appointment and strongly recommended. These visits can be scheduled during regular school hours on in-session days and should be booked as early as possible through our Admissions team. If the applicant family is based outside of France a video call can be set up. We also encourage all prospective families to explore the school’s offerings by visiting our website.
Admission to Kingsworth International School is granted through an application process, and by submitting the required documentation, applicants acknowledge and accept the school’s mission, vision, and admissions policy. In cases where demand exceeds available spaces, some successful applicants may be placed on a waiting list.
The school may consider various factors, such as a family’s duration of stay in Paris, the student’s prior experience with the curriculum and IGCSE/IAL programmes, their language profile, or any learning support needs when assigning future openings. When all other factors are equal, priority will be given to siblings of current Kingsworth students in the allocation of available spaces.
5. Application process
Our admissions process is simple and transparent. The following steps are required to apply:
- Step 1: Application Form
Parents or guardians must submit a completed online application form. The form will request basic information such as the student’s personal details, previous educational history, and language proficiency. The admissions process is an opportunity to share accurate and meaningful information with our admissions team in order to support student academic, social and emotional well-being. On the rare occasion where key information is knowingly withheld or obscured, the school reserves the right to refuse admission or withdraw a place already offered. In the event that student or parent behaviour directly violates the values of the community as stated in our Student Code of Conduct, the school reserves the right to request the withdrawal of the individual(s) or family(ies) concerned. - Step 2: Supporting Documents
Along with the application form, the following documents must be submitted:- Copy of the student’s passport or national identification card
- Three of the applicant’s latest school transcripts or report cards (translated into English if applicable)
- A personal statement or letter of motivation written by the student (optional but encouraged)
- Step 3: Review of Application and Selection Criteria
Our admissions team will review the completed application, taking into account the student’s academic history, language proficiency, and personal statement. As a non-selective school, we do not base our admissions decisions on academic performance alone. We believe in the value of diverse students and seek to enroll applicants who can benefit from and contribute to our international learning community. The selection process takes into account:- Academic History: While we do not have strict academic entry requirements, we expect that students will have demonstrated a basic level of academic achievement in their previous school years.
- Motivation and Interest: We look for students who are motivated to engage in an international educational experience and who can contribute to the multicultural environment of our school.
- Diversity and Inclusion: We aim to create a balanced and inclusive student body, representing a broad spectrum of nationalities, cultures, and perspectives.
- Step 4: Notification of Acceptance
Parents or guardians will be notified of the outcome of the application process. Successful applicants will receive an official offer of admission.
6. Enrollment and orientation
Once students have been accepted, they will need to confirm their enrollment by submitting the following:
- Written acknowledgment of the offer
- Payment of the tuition deposit
7. Support for international students
We recognize that international students may face unique challenges in adjusting to life in France. To support their integration, Kingsworth International School offers:
- Language Support: English as an Additional Language (EAL) classes for non-native speakers.
- Cultural Integration: Social activities, events, and student clubs that promote cross-cultural exchange and social integration.
- Academic Support: Guidance for students who need additional help with their studies.
8. Non-discrimination

9. Admission deadlines
Enrolment is conducted on a rolling admissions basis that continues throughout the academic year, subject to space availability. Applications will be reviewed by the Admissions Committee on an on-going basis and in order of completion, and formal notification of the decision (acceptance, waiting list, denial) is communicated within approximately 7 business days, following receipt of the application.
10. Tuition and fees
Information regarding tuition fees and other associated costs will be provided upon request. Scholarships and financial aid options may be available for eligible students.
11. Re-enrolment
Re-enrolment at Kingsworth International School is an annual process, and families must inform the school during the re-registration period of their intention to re-enrol their child(ren) for the upcoming academic year. Re-enrolment requires submission of a re-enrolment contract and a non-refundable down payment. Re-enrolment is contingent upon:
(i) the school being able to continue to adequately address a student’s needs;
(ii) student behaviour in accordance with the school values and guidelines found in the Student Code of Conduct
(iii) all financial accounts current and in good standing.
